OK…it appears that the National Ummah Party in Sudan has no idea what they are talking about. The lifting of sanctions is going to have a massive impact on Sudan. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the government’s “unreal political convictions”, and everything to do with the government’s zealous commitment to Austerity and neoliberalism.
Yes, there will be some benefits from the lifting of sanctions, and the inflow of investment, but these benefits will be superficial, and will ultimately enslave the country, unless the opposition adopts a strategy of making profitability contingent upon socioeconomic and political improvements.
