The power of corporations is international. The global super rich sit on the throne of the Empire of Capital. They are the shareholders of the empire. All the decisions come down from them, and all the money flows up to them. They have no patriotism, no nationalism, no ideological loyalties, except to money and power. The sit atop a complex, multi-tiered imperial structure that includes corporations, banks, governments, NGOs, media and educational institutions, all self-reinforcing and mobilized to serve their interests.
Their power structure, their institutions, and their interests are sprawled across the globe. Any resistance movement against the Empire of Capital is going to have to be similarly multinational. We are going to have to be able to pressure companies globally for their support for tyrannical regimes anywhere.
