It is conceivable that activists on any given issue may be able to manipulate the rivalries between corporate competitors; like Unilever and Proctor & Gamble; to pressure them so that each one tries to be the first company of the two to take a stand on that particular issue. We have to be aware that the targeting of multinational corporations creates a change in the market. If one company is targeted, its competitor may stand to benefit; and this creates an added incentive for the targeted company to respond positively to our demands
