The conventional strategies of activism have been tried on the Rohingya issue for years, with very little success.
If the usual ideological rhetoric and reckless armed strategy advocated by Jihadis had been adopted, Arakan state would be in chaos and the Rohingyas would have been obliterated by now.
If the approach of the “moderate” Islamists were followed, there would be a handful of wealthy Rohingya “leaders” on satellite channels, and nothing would change.
But we have adopted the strategy of targeting private sector power, lobbying multinational corporations, and within a couple of weeks, helped to successfully end a 4 month military crackdown.
Let those who are interested in change take note.
