There is a pretty catastrophic convergence taking place with the younger generation; on one hand, their actual lives are becoming steadily more miserable, more impoverished, less free, and more dangerous; on the other hand, they are increasingly existing in a profoundly isolating, lonely, and trivial virtual world of online gaming and shallow social media. Living inside their phones and laptops, they are being bereft of basic, real human interaction, and, indeed, the skills needed to cope with reality, with society, and especially, with difficulty.
