The Rohingya Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, or Manny Pacquiao may be languishing somewhere in Malaysia. Just imagine the morale boost it would be for the community, and for refugees everywhere if a Rohingya boxing champion could emerge on the scene!
We are proposing a Boxing Boot Camp here in Kuala Lumpur for young Rohingya refugees, ages 18-25 to provide them with a positive outlet for their anxiety, anger and frustration, and an avenue for personal achievement.
Physical fitness has a tremendously positive impact on overall mental and psychological health, and boxing is the perfect channel for the pent up energy and tension young refugees grapple with every day.
We will be looking for participants who demonstrate a natural talent to potentially groom them for professional boxing careers, and, who knows, they may be able to take the Rohingya struggle into the ring and become champions of the nation!
I am myself an undefeated boxer with over 20 years experience as a trainer. We need your support to make this happen. Costs will be minimal, but the potential benefits to the cause of the Rohingya, and refugees in general, could be massive!
Please direct message me or Mahi Ramakrishnan for more information, and to offer your support!
