Aung San Suu Kyi’s decision to deny the UN team access to investigate abuse against the Rohingya does not hinder the UN’s work in Arakan in any way; quite the opposite.
It should be understood by now, and certainly after internal documents relating to the UN’s abysmal failure to protect the Rohingya, that there is essentially a partnership between the regime and the United Nations to maintain the status quo of ethnic cleansing.
Refusing the UN team access is a manifestation of that partnership, and I am sure both sides understand that.
