Non-Muslims really need to decide on a consistent position regar…

Posted on October 30, 2017 by Shahid Bolsen

Non-Muslims really need to decide on a consistent position regarding alcohol and accountability. Now that #KevenSpacey has been accused, and admitted, drunkenly sexually harassing / assaulting a 14 year old boy; social media almost unanimously declares that intoxication is not a defence. But when a woman fornicates when she is drunk, she is unanimously characterised as a victim, and that her “consent” doesn’t count because her judgement was impaired. So, I mean, is judgement impaired or not? Does drunkenness clear some people of accountability for their misbehaviour but not others?

Genuinely asking for clarification here.
