In the short term, a US war on Iran; spiraling the country into chaos and violence for years to come; would be potentially good for Israel. It would increase the dependency of the Gulf States on the US and deepen their loyalty. But long term, Iran as a stable American client state would eclipse all current US allies in the region, and severely weaken their position — which currently exists primarily in the context of animosity towards Iran.
