I would not completely dismiss from possibility the US escalating aggression against Iran.
Iran’s counterpunch was a feint; clearly demonstrating their fear of military conflict with the US (and rightly so). If America was testing the will of Tehran, they got an encouraging answer. Washington may provoke further. Nothing is restraining them but their own agenda.
