You need to stop the alarmist reaction to reports of new #coronavirus cases that do not talk about age and health factors.
The total number of cases is itself not worrisome, there are a number of countries with similar figures on the number of cases, but divergent in the number of fatalities — because the key point is WHO is getting infected.
You do not need to lockdown the entire society; you need to isolate the vulnerable from the majority. If a young person has it, for instance, they need to be away from the elderly; and the elderly and those with preexisting conditions should be supported by the government through care, testing, and provision, to protect them from exposure.
There is no real reason why you would not do this, unless you simply want to spread fear to rationalise martial law.
