Let’s be honest; a whole lot of people on ‘temporary leave’ from their jobs in the US and Europe right now because of the lockdowns, are never getting those jobs back.
Companies are going to downsize, they will have to. The #coronavirus will provide a major boost to automation. Many people working from home now will continue to work from home once the lockdown ends, as companies discover how few on-site staff they really need in order to operate. An enormous amount of jobs are going to be eliminated.
I wouldn’t be surprised if already some businesses are exploring how they can accommodate for the absence of staff and continue operating during the #lockdown using various forms of technology. Once they find a way around the need for on-site staff, they will never go back.
