I am not an anti-vaccine person. I believe in vaccines, am vaccinated, and I do not believe the conspiracy theories about vaccines. However, biotech is a business sector; and it is not conspiratorial to recognise that vaccines are a commercial product manufactured and sold for profit.
It is also not conspiratorial to recognise that developers of vaccines have a vested interest in making people terrified of any ailment for which they promise a cure. That is just business.
There is simply no question that the #coronavirus has been vastly over-hyped; most of you who are afraid of it have probably already gotten it, and already recovered.
In countries where records exist and are available to the public, #Covid19 has not drastically increased the number of deaths that were already expected to occur, according to projections based on historical trends — including Italy. In some countries (the US and UK) total deaths have actually decreased.
It is simply NOT a public health threat of such severity that it justifies the current Draconian response…And it is astonishing to me, and deeply disappointing, the extent to which populations around the world are just acquiescing to — even demanding — their own house arrest.
But, on one level, what this is doing is creating a global demand for a product; and Bill Gates (for one) is betting on a massive new revenue stream.
