Even according to the official rationale, you lost your job and your fundamental rights to freedom of movement, association, assembly, and expression, not to prevent the spread of #Covid19, but to stagger the spread of Covid19 to accommodate an under-staffed and de-funded healthcare system.
The stated justification for #lockdowns is to “mitigate” the spread of the virus. That means “slow down” transmission; not “prevent” transmission. That means that with or without lockdown, fatalities will ultimately be the same, just spread out over a longer time frame.
The same people who are most vulnerable and likely to suffer severe symptoms and possible deaths, will still suffer those things, just later rather than sooner. However, with lockdowns, people who would otherwise have robust immune systems will now be more susceptible to having a severe reaction to the virus than if they had been free to move about society as usual.
In other words, even the official rationale does not make sense; and this does not even address the reality of how many people will suffer and die as a result of lockdown due to denial of necessary medical treatment for other ailments because hospitals have slashed services for non-Covid issues.
In fact, what is happening is the most brutal, forceful, and ruthless global imposition of Neoliberalism the world has ever seen.
