The ironic thing about young people today excoriating past generations for not being as “enlightened” or “progressive” as they are, is the fact that young people today only have the values they have, and the understanding of “social justice” that they have, because those concepts were developed over the course of the preceding generations, and they are actually just inheriting them without effort.
The truth is, this generation of “woke” people has a lot more in common with the previous generations who never questioned segregation, or slavery, or any other social norm of its day, than they do with the revolutionary thinkers who opposed the predominant perspectives of the times they lived in.
