55% of African-Americans are in the middle and upper class. 25% are working class. The majority of African-Americans do not live in ghettos or the inner city; they live in suburbs.
I am posting this primarily for friends and followers who do not live in the US, and who are largely depending on agenda-driven narratives on social media about the Black community in America for their information. Roughly 20% of African-Americans live in poverty, which is just 6 percentage points higher than the national average. 40% are middle class, which is only 2 percentage points below the national average.
