By any metric of brutality; from street crime to war; the collective West vastly surpasses the Muslim world in violence. The per capita number of violent offenders — assaults, rapes, murders — in the West and broader non-Muslim global community is undeniably greater than per capita incidence of violence among Muslims, terrorist attacks notwithstanding.
There is simply no comparison. Responsibility for brutality among Muslims is almost exclusively attributable to either small, fringe extremist groups (who are universally condemned by the population), or to the security apparatus of secular dictatorships supported by the West. Brutality in the US and Europe is primarily attributable to the violent tendencies of the general public, and again, the per capita incidence eclipses violence committed among Muslims.
