A “Liberal Muslim” SHOULD mean a Muslim who believes in the core values of Liberalism; basic freedoms, limited government, democracy, free trade, equality before the law, and so on. What it has come to mean is a Muslim who thinks Islamic beliefs and practices that distinguish Muslims from non-Muslims should be forsaken, and the religion should be changed to satisfy Leftists.
