I remember when Muslims around the world used to place great hope in the American Muslim community, believing that their activism and political participation might help make the US less hostile and aggressive to Muslim countries.
Leadership in the American Muslim community, in 2020, has decisively proven that hope false. They do not care in the least about Muslims overseas. Period.
