Monopolies are pursued, quite logically, by companies; but they are created by consumers. Breaking up monopolies through antitrust measures by the government, in my opinion, are not ideal, insofar as they relieve the public of what is actually their own responsibility. We are perfectly capable of breaking up monopolies through our consumer choices, and doing so would reveal to us our own latent power. I would much rather see big business confronted by the population than by big government.
